In preparation for April's trip to Medalta Potteries we need to become experts at object based visual journalling. Students tonight are to chose an object, any old object, could even be a dirty sock on the floor. They are to sketch this in pencil. Then identify the parts that are important like the nacho chip that is beside it, or the lizard tail that is under it, then they are to ask the 6 questions - Why is this sock here? How did it get here? What was it doing before it got here? Does the person know it is here? and then try to ask some deeper questions. Why is this sock dirty? ... or something more creative ... minimum 6 questions! OOh... if you can remember to please email me a photo - any photo and I will compile a folder for us to create a photo story tomorrow with techie specialist Mr. Johnson who will be joining us again tomorrow morning. Thursday is skating! As you may or may not remember - I talked about at the beginning of the week a math project we will move onto when we are multiplying and dividing masters. The project is arts based since so many of you are incredibly artistic or enjoy art. So to get wondering why I would chose math to integrate art - I've decided to post a few pictures. Think math is useless? Well many of some very famous artists are also mathematicians - and use math to create amazing works of art. On the links page find more links to pages about math and art. |
