Well I always find Friday's to be super productive. Although we are all tired from working so hard all week long, I think it is amazing at what gets done on a Friday. I am sooo impressed with what you all did today. We are all almost finished our science, working on our good copies of our social studies projects next week and finished up our math unit (you know that means test coming up!!). Next week we will review :)
Today we started working in our visual journals for Medalta and had a guest speaker come in and show us some artifacts and some super intense journaling happened during this time. I am really excited about these next couple of weeks. This is my favourite time of the year. You all should be soooo incredibly proud of what amazing effort you put in every day. Have a great weekend! Look forward to seeing you all Monday :) to come... Monday spelling bee pledge forms We are working today on finishing up our Science Unit on sound and light in grade three and four respectively. We are creating flip flap books to show our understanding. Learning is sort of like cooking...takes a long time to prepare and then it's devoured in a short amount of time with something left to be desired.
Next week we will be starting to learn about building constructions and simple machines and then start to build. Before we head into easter we will finish up our Social studies regions projects and when we come back - l learn about pictographs and storytelling through hieroglyphics. This afternoon we are watching Quest Theatre! So while it may have taken a while to take off, we are now mathletic superstars. We have one student that appeared in the top 100 students in Canada today at number 56 and the class ranked number 27 in Canada! Pretty awesome! We started a novel in French today and did some visual journalling about our knowledge so far! Here are some examples of what we did.. I always like to think that a day with busy bodies and all sorts of everything happening is productive. It's pretty much the most awesome feeling to walk into a room and everyone notices your presence. I know when I am away I miss everyone too and am excited to see everyone again.
This afternoon we worked on all sorts of projects and worked on research and sharpening up our math skills on mathletics. Students wrote and rocked their spelling tests. ... random quote of the day that made me smile "a job I would not want to do when I get older is be a pepper spray tester... not at all!" ... couldn't agree more! This room has such great spirit! Whenever it is a day to celebrate this class is prepared. In fact they were a bit shocked that there was no party today it was so festively green in here. To be honest...I'm a bit shocked myself. I'll try again next year. Something you may not know about me, but deep deep down there are some things I love but rarely ever admit it or display it... skulls and sequins. So there was definitely a tie in this classroom today that won me over! Bravo mes amis. So... today we coloured, did some patterns, did aaaaa loootttt of research and did some math on the computers. Great job mes amis! Pretty awesome day for the first day back after 3 days away. Amazing how much I miss you all running into the classroom all telling me a different story at the same time... what's more amazing is how many of them I can actually listen to simultaneously. A demain! Dr. Hyde from 20/20 vision is wondering how it is we see the colour purple. Ask your child about colour absorption and reflection. On the right, the mad scientist is mixing colours with water to create other colours and we are seeing how when we mix those same colours with light different things happen. Does anyone remember the primary colours of light? What colours make white?
We are almost finished Charlotte's Web and what better way to describe our characters than writing Acrostic Poems! (have I ever told you how much I love children's poetry?!...next to their paintings, it is probably my favourite thing). Here are some of the poems --- coming to life. Report cards went home today. Please go over it together, sign it and bring back only the blue part. Student-led conferences are this week - no need to sign up, just come when it works and allow your child to go through our daily work with you. |
